Job Description

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for procurement activity across assigned department/products. The Sourcing Specialist will work with the Purchasing team to provide professional procurement input into projects covering all aspects of the procurement process from market evaluation through contract award and, in some cases, contract and dispute management.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the business and with suppliers by creating a clear supply network to ensure compliance with Procurement procedures, negotiated benefits from services and cost improvement.
  • Deliver sourcing plans for relevant areas of expenditure, designed to deliver the appropriate supply base and best commercial outcome.
  • Leading or supporting the sourcing process by coordinating and drafting specifications, selection criteria, questionnaires, contract schedules and documentation to ensure that the most appropriate supplier selection is achieved and is in accordance with DDS policy guidelines.
  • Supports the Procurement team in identifying new procurement opportunities through reports, data analysis and engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the supplier expenditure is appropriately challenged and managed.
  • Supports the business in the execution of the new vendor process so that relevant service levels and key performance indicators are adequately defined in the contractual documentation to ensure that the necessary controls around supplier management standards are achieved.
  • Understand and analyze the cost base and pipeline of future activity and translate this into clear sourcing plans.
  • Special projects as requested.

Requirements:

  • BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain, and Procurement preferred
  • 3+ years of experience successfully in procurement with the ability to make an immediate impact to the effectiveness and operational efficiency of the team as it responds to increasing customer demand and corporate efficiency.
  • Proven ability to work in diverse teams in a complex environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Proven record of applying procurement best practices to a diverse range of purchasing situations. Ability to provide effective and accurate analysis and reporting of relevant data.
  • Demonstrable negotiation experience and a solid knowledge of contract law.
  • Strong analysis skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work in a team oriented environment
  • Work independently in a time sensitive environment
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate clearly, timely and accurately
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with the ability to influence and persuade both internal clients and suppliers
