The Sales Manager position includes responsibility for employees within the Catalog Sales team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who would like to apply both their sales and management skills to drive sales and profits for Bunzl to customers within the food processing industry in the US. A key focus of this management position is to further develop our marketing strategies. They will work hand-in-hand with the marketing, advertising, website teams and our creative departments to develop various advertisements, sales materials, trade show plans, and of course the well-known Bunzl Koch catalog.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the sales groups in the Catalog department.
  • Drive both sales and margin growth.
  • Develop and motivate your sales team to achieve results.
  • To understand the market in which you are selling, and deploy resources to ensure maximum coverage and product exposure.
  • To motivate your customer service and sales teams to service and grow existing accounts while focusing on new account development.
  • Responsible for communicating verbally and written via use of Microsoft E-mail, Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Help develop marketing strategies, as well as help determine which products get promoted in various marketing materials.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and four to six years management experience and/or training in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You have a proven track record managing and selling in a competitive market.
  • Through your sales team, you have been able to develop accounts and sustain the accounts with follow-up and account management skills to foster a long-term buying relationship.
  • Web-Site Marketing background a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task projects and possess a general knowledge of business principles.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • An effective communicator, motivator and coach.
  • Ability to interact with other departments.
  • Must be a problem solver and detail oriented.
  • A focus towards sales growth.
  • A “big picture”, “out of the box” mentality.
  • Previous AS400 experience a plus.
