This position is responsible for managing a range of activities related to employee/labor relations and other Human Resources functions.  These functions include responsibility for developing, interpreting, recommending and implementing program goals and objectives, policies and procedures and courses of action.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all regional company personnel
  • Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program
  • Act as consultant and coach to management and employees in the are of Employee Relations; conducts exit interviews
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including conducting new employee orientation, and monitoring future employee career paths
  • Administer regional Workers' Compensation programs coordinating with the branch Warehouse Managers and branch Office Managers
  • Works with Payroll/Benefits Administrators to resolve any issues or investigation of compensation issue
  • Maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database
  • Responsible for facilitation in-house management training and coordinating various other training programs
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and outside regulations and regulatory agencies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with major coursework in Business Administration, Human Resources management,  or closely related field
  • Minimum of five or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience required
  • Significant experience in employee relations required
  • In-depth understanding of HR practices and fundamentals required
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time if required
  • Prior positions held in management and operations considered a plus
  • Must possess an extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)  or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
  • Experience working within a union environment and managing collective bargaining agreements preferred
  • Experience with HRIS (i.e. Peoplesoft, Ultipro, etc) preferred
  • Must have demonstrated a strong employee and customer orientation with decision making and leadership skills
  • Ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior multi-site/multi-state support experience is preferred
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills including presentation skills; must be able to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing to all levels of management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and email applications required
