The Inventory Analyst ensures the optimal level of inventory while maintaining required service levels for assigned customer accounts and/or commodity item groups. Special attention must be paid to improving turns, identifying inventory levels that exceed demand and minimizing 120 Day inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management - medium to high level of difficulty
  • Analyzes inventory levels, prepares forecasts and makes purchases to support demand for assigned locations and vendors
  • Processes forecast change requests
  • Manages turns and 120 Day inventory reduction efforts
  • Review and follow up on daily, weekly and month-end inventory reports
  • PO processing
  • Software replenishment maintenance
  • Report generation
  • Assists in line reviews and cost reduction efforts with Supply Chain
  • Identifies and resolves supplier issues
  • Participates in conference calls and meetings as determined
  • Inventory expert (processes, issues, ‘one-off’ information)
  • Enter vendor returns; inventory write-offs and destructions
  • Follow up on open purchase orders and back-orders, expedite as needed, update ETA in system
  • Manages inventory levels to meet budget guidelines
  • Responsible for system maintenance on usages and buy multiples
  • Communicates and coordinates usage changes and sales opportunities with supported branches
  • Schedules inbound freight

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar field is desired
  • Five or more years working in a distribution warehousing or purchasing environment with hands-on knowledge of inventory management principles and systems
  • Communication, both written and verbal
  • Analytical, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership
  • Project and priority management (Organization)
  • Knowledge of contemporary inventory management concepts, practices and procedures
  • PC proficiency including Word and Advanced Excel experience
  • Report generation (Subjective)
  • Service-driven; detail-oriented
