The Central Warehouse (CW) Operations Manager will assist in the development of the operational strategy for the Central Warehouse facilities and manage the execution of that strategy across all current and future CW facilities.
This position may be located in Chicago, New Jersey, Atlanta, Dallas, or L. A.
  • Leadership of  CW supervisors
  • Development of  SOPs to ensure smooth & efficient operational practices across network
  • Working with local personnel, develop “most efficient” freight procedures and execution for regional business
  • Ensure efficient distribution and de-conflict obstacles with branches
  • Coordination with Supply Chain Resource team on inventory levels & turns
  • Coordination with Strategic Sourcing on inventory on “buy” opportunities
  • Develop planning and process with local management and corporate operations to startup  new facilities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Warehouse/Logistics in a Supervisory or Management role
  • Solid Computer skills (AS400 a plus)
  • Position requires occasional travel to other branch locations, the corporate offices, or for training purposes
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work load
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Demonstrated orientation and commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to get positive results through influence, persuasion, leadership, and training
  • Ability to think strategically and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High ethical standards
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
