Overview: The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the development of strategy and execution to ML Kishigo’s retail chain supply. They shall support sales at customer sites with proper placement and display of merchandise. The Merchandise Manager must work to establish a leadership position within the marketplace via product assortment and merchandising. The Merchandise Manager is expected to project a positive image to ML Kishigo customers and while adhering to ML Kishigo’s policies and procedures.
  • Research and select merchandise mix based upon customer needs, market conditions, competitive opportunities, retail sales trends and key industry metrics.
  •  “Merchandise” product for display and placement in a way that attracts sales at customer stores and trade shows.
  • Design and develop an Omni-channel merchandise presentation which includes catalog development and provide sales support to Field Sales Representative.
  • Maintain leadership position through product assortment and merchandising presentation.
  • Communicate with warehouse team, customer service and Sales regarding product discrepancies and/or customer issues.
  • Coordinate and communicate product merchandising needs and customer requirements with sales representative.
  • Develop and deliver key status updates, proposals and requirements documentation.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, supply chain and sales teams.
  • Create and provide detailed store level analysis of inventory and assortment performance and makes recommended changes to improve inventory productivity and financial performance
  • Develop accurate inventory flow forecasts that support business strategies
  • Execute allocation strategies to optimize inventory and capitalize on opportunities

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of retail merchandising or comparable merchandising and inventory planning experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as problem solving skill set.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Highly organized and able to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships and influence teams.
  • Must be available to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
